Scandalous Celebrities - Wicked Obsession

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

Scandalous celebrities are an American obsession. Everywhere we go there is some new tell-all headline, book, or T.V. show about them. We love to love celebs and love to hate them. The purpose of this page is not to trash celebrities. There is enough of that going on as it is. My goal is to show people it is okay to admire superstar celebs and become avid fans of the stars or their work. It is not okay to worship and glorify their salacious antics on and off the red carpet.

Here is a list of my top 10 notorious celebrities who continue to feed our wicked obsession:

  1. Madonna, ‘Like A Virgin’ Ritchie
  2. O.J., ‘If I Did It’, Simpson
  3. Britney, ‘Oops, I Did It Again’, Spears
  4. Lindsay, ‘Party Hearty’, Lohan
  5. Paul, ‘Pee-Wee Herman’, Reubens
  6. Amy, ‘I Have A Megaton Of Issues’ Winehouse
  7. Whitney, Bobby!!, Houston
  8. Bobby, Whitney!!, Brown
  9. Mariah, ‘The Whistler’, Carey
  10. Tom, ‘Dr. Nooooooooooo’, Cruise

Seriously, though…

As far as I know, only one of the celebs listed above has practiced total abstinence until marriage. But she fell off the wagon years ago - and stayed off. This decision did not bode well for Britney Spears as her life has been in shambles ever since she chose to ditch her innocent, girl-next-door persona.

Despite the accolades they receive for their raucous behavior, some superstars are paying a high price for their notoriety. Amy Winehouse, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and O.J. Simpson are destroying their own lives or are responsible for destroying the lives of others. As a result, their lives are absolute train wrecks. It is never fun or easy to watch anyone fall down and not get back up. It’s certainly not fun or entertaining. But their lack of restraint has become a cultural norm and they are infamously adored. We applaud when they come away unscathed. We slam them when their destructive behavior turns to tragedy. The sad, tragic tale of the late Anna Nicole Smith comes to mind. She lived a decadent lifestyle at the expense of herself and her children. Abstinence, modesty, chastity, and self control were the furthest things from her mind - and she paid the ultimate price for her indiscretions.

Others, like Hugh Grant, developed more discretion in their personal lives. They have wisely stepped up to their game and have distanced themselves from any hint of debauchery. Even so, worshiping at the feet of celebrity idols has become a cult-like endeavor.

Fanaticism At Its’ Worst

I’m just as guilty as everyone else of being a celebrity uber-fan. When a fanatic public justifies bad behavior, the impact on society is immense.

Think about all the little five year old girls bemoaning the fact that they’re not sexy enough for some little boy they like at school. And the little boys who learn to view females as sexual objects. Or the preteens who develop eating disorders, and other abnormalities, because they compare themselves to some anorexic-looking models and actresses. Let’s not forget about the teens and young adults who become sexually active because they saw some hip love scene in an R-rated movie or online video.

Celebrity worship promotes a message that is just the opposite of total abstinence until marriage - to the detriment of impressionable children. To be fair, many genres are culpable in creating this breakdown of societal morals - including the media and music industries. Because the moguls of these businesses are raking in tons of money, the American public turns a blind eye to their destructive exploits - to the detriment of impressionable children. The effect is a society full of people who don’t know the first thing about maintaining a lifestyle of total abstinence until marriage - to the detriment of impressionable children.

An adoring public, the media, and the music industry have all played a part in promoting scandalous behavior in those who are too weak or too young to resist its’ temptations.

They say a college degree or a stellar work history is proof of expertise in a given field of study or profession. If that’s the case, I’m in my junior year at the college of Total Abstinence Until Marriage. I’ll graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Spring 2009. Then I’ll concentrate on pursuing my Master’s degree.

Seriously, though…

Knight in Shining Armor Syndrome

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

Unless you just came out of a coma, you know that the late Anna Nicole Smith’s ex-boyfriend is Larry Birkhead. He has been in the news since he announced he was the father of Dannielynn. One interviewer asked him why he continued to stay in the relationship despite Anna Nicole’s drug use. He said he thought he could “save her”. He had “knight in shining armor syndrome”.

In her book, “Why We Love” author Helen Fisher states that: millions of years of protecting and providing for women has bred into the male brain this tendency to choose women they feel they need to save. What separates man from animal is his ability to think and reason. Just because it may be natural for men to be chivalrous, it doesn’t mean they can’t place a limit on just how far they will go.

Should they open a door, pull out a chair, take a woman’s hand when crossing the street or give her their jacket if she’s cold? Absolutely. Should they try to save a woman whose life is a mess? They do so at their own peril.

Men try to save damsels in distress because it makes them feel powerful, in control and manly. Sometimes they are afraid of women and think they won’t be rejected if they fix a woman’s problems. They hide their inadequacies behind what looks like strength. They know they don’t have their act together, so instead of working on themselves they’d rather work on someone else. Such relationships are doomed to fail.

If these men really were strong, they would not be trying to save someone that appears to be a victim. They don’t realize that aside from a few circumstances beyond one’s control (acts of God, accidents, disease, etc.) one’s position in life is based on who they are on the inside, not someone or something “out there”. There is an axiom that says: There are no victims, only volunteers.

Knights believe that if the woman gets better, she’ll become the perfect girlfriend. The only problem is that if she does become healthy, she will not want to be with someone who is so flawed that he tolerated being with a “broken-winged bird”. Healthy people do not want to be with unhealthy people.

On the other hand, if she doesn’t get better, the man will never have the perfect girlfriend because he won’t get his needs met. In addition, his fears of an intimate relationship will not be repaired by staying with an inadequate woman. It’s a no-win situation.

Why else do men choose damsels in distress? According to Dr. Laura in her book, “Ten Things Men Do To Mess Up Their Lives” other reasons for “stupid chivalry” are: guilt for past transgressions and lifestyles, feelings of real or imagined inadequacies, fear of the pain of abandonment, loneliness, ego aggrandizement, fears about women’s (aka Mom’s) approval and acceptance and a fragmented sense of masculinity. If you’re currently trying to be a knight in shining armor, what’s your reason?

Just because a man doesn’t acknowledge that a woman is responsible for her circumstances, it doesn’t mean those same circumstances won’t come back to bite him in the butt at some future date. Larry Birkhead’s life is now chaotic as the result of trying to save a woman whose life was chaotic. Would you want to be in his shoes?

Steps Life Partners Can Take For Legal Protection

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

Many states are taking steps to provide legal protection for life partners. However, in many instances, life partners, or those in a cohabitation situation, a mother living with her daughter, or an unmarried elderly couple living together for example, do not have a lot in the way of legal protections in the event of illness, incapacitating events, or death.

While the government may not have provided protection, there are legal steps that can be taken so that partners or cohabiters can protect one another in the event of unusual circumstances. Some areas to think about are finances, health care, property rights, and issues that will arise after death such as those concerning burial, disposal of the remains, and rights to property.

The first step that springs to mind is the creation an effective Last Will and Testament. As seen so recently in the Anna Nicole Smith case, not having an up-to-date Will created a vacuum in which the government had to step in and attempt to determine the wishes of the deceased. From my own personal experience I am aware how not having a last will and testament can create difficulties for the family of the deceased.

In many cases, there will be property to be dealt with, and, while a will may state who is to get that property, ownership of that property may be in question unless steps have been taken, such as preparation of a quitclaim deed, to insure that questions of ownership will not arise.

Healthcare and finances can also be an issue. Legal forms such as healthcare directives, living wills, and living trusts can create a clear legal path for one partner to care for and attend to the needs of the other.

Simple steps such as filling out a power of attorney form and last will and testament purchased online or at the local business supply store can be a cheap, effective, and incredibly important move in protecting you and your partner in situations that may eventually occur.

DOCUMENTS TO CONSIDER:

Cohabitation Agreement: This is simply a written contract entered into by any two people prior to living together. It will specifically outline and address issues concerning finances and property of the partners. It also states what will take place in these areas if the relationship ends.

Last Will and Testament: This will clearly define your wishes in the event of your death so that your assets can be distributed according to your desires and the choices of distribution will not fall to the state.

Living Trust: This allows you to make a legal decision as to how you want your assets and property to be managed while you are alive. It can also define how you want your assets and property to be distributed after your death.

Living Will: A living will, among other things, allows you to spell out how you want your healthcare to be performed and managed in the event you become incapacitated.

Quitclaim Deed: In the event that a living trust has been prepared, a quitclaim deed should also be prepared to aid in achieving an uncontested transfer of title to property.

Power of Attorney: This simple form allows you to designate someone to perform actions in your behalf and in your name.

In any relationship, be it traditional marriage, or a non-married cohabitation situation, preparing in advance for life’s events can save everyone involved a lot of grief and expense.

Did Anna Nicole Smith Really Lose It ALL With Trimspa?

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

Everyone’s seen the commercials. The gradual, nonetheless impressively dramatic stages of weight loss the curvy sex kitten icon Anna Nicole Smith dropped purportedly from taking Trimspa - for a long while. Some naysayers argue that Ms. Smith had gastric bypass surgery, drastic liposuction or other plastic surgery to achieve such a huge weight loss in a short period without getting the sagging, loose skin that often goes with fast weight loss.

First, let me say, I have tried Trimspa a few times, and I generally like the way it cuts down my appetite and gives me an energy boost. But do I believe it can be solely responsible for such a drastic weight loss as Anna Nicole Smith, or any other individual who may be considered obese? I’m not so sure.

Now, couple a weight loss and appetite suppressant such as Trimspa with professional personal trainers and dietitians, or for us “normal” folks, just good old fashioned discipline and you’ve got yourself a winning weightloss combination. Anna Nicole was probably put on a strict diet and exercise regimen, along with Trimspa in order to shed so many pounds so fast.

Sure, Trimspa undoubtedly helped to suppress her appetite and give her an edge, but I don’t think anyone is naive enough to think Trimspa alone was responsible for her dramatic transformation.

So, What Ingredients Does Trimspa Contain?

1. Hoodia Gordonii - A native African cactus-like plant, which is now more widely advertised as a diet aid. Trimspa was actually the first to use this plant extract in a commercial weight loss formula. Hoodia Gordonii is most well known for it’s abilities to suppress the appetite.

2. Glucosamine - This natural compound is supposed to prolong the amount of time glucose remains in the blood stream. In other words, it helps stabilize blood sugar levels, which also stabilizes the appetite.

3. Green Tea Extract - Green Tea is supposed to have thermogenic (accelerated fat and calorie burning) capabilities, as well as sustain higher energy levels and help to eliminate free radicals.

4. Vanadium - Another natural compound which aids in appetite suppression.

5. Chromium - Another nutrient which helps stabilize blood sugar and control carb cravings.

6. Glucomannan - A natural root extract which purportedly helps to aid in feelings of fullness by acting essentially as a fiber “filler” in the stomach.

7. Citrus Naringen - Curbs appetite.

8. Theobromine - Acts as a mild diuretic (rids the body of excess water retention). Believe it or not, some different types of chocolate contain this organic compound also.

As you can see, Trimspa seems to have a pretty powerful combination of natural weight loss ingredients. And it does work well - for a while. But be warned, the effects do wear off after a while, and your appetite does return. I think the key to permanent weight loss and consistent weight maintenance lies in finding the right balance of foods that you enjoy which naturally lends themselves to a healthy weight.

So, did Anna Nicole really lose it all through hard work, determination and a financial incentive from the folks at Trimspa, or did she have some help from doctors? I’m afraid we’ll never know the real story, but it sure is fun to speculate!

How To Lose Eight Pounds Every Month

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

There are several popular diets for quick weight loss out there that may or may not work in helping you achieve your goal of losing a few pounds quickly, however, the American Heart Association and just about every doctor, nutritionist and fitness experts has said that some these types of “quick fix” fad diets are not only bad for you, but also potentially dangerous and do nothing to really help you in the long run.

It’s kind of like those “Payday Loan” places in a way. You know, you go in and get a loan until payday and everything seems great at the time, but then on payday you not only have to pay back what you borrowed, but you also must pay back a huge amount of fees. With these diets for quick weight loss the initial response that you get is when you get the loan, but the interest you must pay back could be gaining back even more weight than what you lost initially or suffering long term health issues from it.

Let’s face it folks. There is no such thing as a “magic diet pill” that is healthy. Do you really want to risk your health in order to lose weight? Look at what happened recently to Anna Nicole Smith. The jury is still out on how she could have possibly lost all of that weight by using TrimSpa, a product that has now been scientifically proven NOT to work. The poor girl is gone, whether it was from what she was putting in her body or not, who knows, but I know that I personally have a family that loves me and I would never endanger myself in any manner just to lose a few quick pounds.

When are people going to get it through their heads that it takes time to gain weight, therefore, it takes time to lose weight. The only way that a person can lose weight is by burning off more calories than what they’re taking in. The only healthy way to do this is by eating healthy foods, but monitor your calorie intake and start a regular exercise routine and stick to it. The weight will gradually come off, the same way that it gradually came on. You can expect to lose a pound or two per week, so if you need to lose twenty pounds you can expect it to take around 10-12 weeks, but you’ll be doing it the healthy way. You’ll not only lose the weight, but you’ll also increase your muscle tone, increase your strength, improve your mental outlook, increase your metabolism, build your confidence and feel like a million bucks. For goodness sakes, stay away from those diets for quick weight loss. Swallow your laziness and get with a real diet program, the healthy way!
