Understanding The Psychology Of Match Play In Tennis

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

In playing tennis, knowing how to lose with a smile like an ideal sportsman is of great consequence. This is the primary and most remarkable law of tennis all tennis players should adhere to, while the second law is to win in a humble and generous manner without gloating over your opponent’s loss.

Although the object of playing a tennis match is ultimately to win, it should be in a manner that is fair and square not only in the eyes of the players but also those of the spectators. If you win a tennis match unfairly, everybody else would consider it as a defeat since the victory falls short of the ideals of the game. But even if you lose and you gave your best in playing the game, your opponent’s victory is considered as a victory of the better man - better prepared in terms of physical, mental and psychological preparation prior to the match.

Not playing your best is like robbing your opponent the right of beating you at your best since he prepared for the match. This is why most tennis followers say that the most important facet of a tennis match is how you play the game wherein a good defeat is far more praiseworthy than an underserved victory.

Every tennis player should play tennis matches for the sake of the game, the camaraderie between players and the excitement it gives both players and spectators since spectators equally deserve the best for the effort of coming to the stadium just to watch you play. All tennis players whether they are a weekend player, a member of the varsity or a pro have the obligation to play their best in public since they get their reward in the form of personal popularity - a tribute only the spectators can give.

During match plays, tennis players should strive to keep competitive spirit alive regardless if he is ahead in the game. Playing a match requires tremendous physical and psychological expenditure on players who have to continually attack and defend while trying to upset one another’s rhythm in order to win.

Match play is a constantly shifting battle of physical and mental prowess in order to come out on top.

It is incumbent to all tennis players to make necessary game adjustments especially if the player is on the losing end and requires intense concentration in order to play the game at a high competitive level.

Match plays should be played one game at a time in order to be able to come up with a strategic and advantageous position over an opponent. It should be combined with maintaining a poker-faced attitude in order not to show your weakness or waning spirit to salvage a losing game until you are able to level the score. However, if this does not happen, then at least you have given your opponent the chance to play hard and sweat for each and every point before winning the game against you.

However, always keep in mind that while doing so you should always do it in the best spirit of the game - easily, happily, and with enjoyment for the sake of the game.

Celebrities Fight to Control Problem Skin on HD Screens

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

While the sharp, clear picture that high definition television offers is great news for the viewer, the format’s unforgiving clarity is making some of our favourite celebrities increasingly paranoid about their acne and facial imperfections.

As the images produced by high definition technology are six times clearer than normal television, celebrities have found that even their slightest imperfections are noticeable.

Philip Swann, of TV technology website TVPredictions.com, thinks many actors and actresses are terrified at the thought of appearing in high definition. He said: “I get e-mails from actors expressing concern because they are going on shows in high definition. It’s not like going on regular TV - it’s like being naked.” Citing notorious acne sufferer Cameron Diaz as an example, he adds: “You think Cameron Diaz is flawless until you see her in high definition. She looks like a different person.”

Traditional make-up looks too obvious on a high definition screen, so make-up artists have to devise specific techniques that cover up skin complaints and facial imperfections, while also providing a flawless finish. In fact, the clarity of high definition puts make-up artists in a rather paradoxical situation; while their stars need to wear more make-up than ever, it also needs to be incredibly discreet.

Swann believes that the arrival of high definition will make and break careers. After all, acne-prone actresses such as Keira Knightley and Cameron Diaz will look noticeably flawed on a high definition screen, while flawless-skinned stars such as Mischa Barton, Anna Kournikova, Eva Longoria, Catherine Zeta Jones and Jessica Alba will still look great.

However, there is a silver lining to this problem. As we see Cameron Diaz and other stars fighting to control their adult acne and problem skin, we realise that underneath the Hollywood glamour, they’re just like us.

Is It Really Possible To Learn To Play Tennis On The Internet?

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

With more and more people getting computers more and more people are wanting to use the internet for something different every day. Well people want to learn how to play tennis online but I don’t think that it is possible. They say that you can learn how to play sports online but how do you learn how to play a sport without actually playing the sport that you are trying to learn how to play. That may sound confusing but it is true how you learn how to play a sport that you are not even physically playing. Now if you ask me that is some crazy mess.

You will need to stop and think for a second and ask yourself if you can actually be taught how to play tennis online. I don’t think that it is possible because you are not really playing the sport you are just reading about the sport and maybe looking at pictures that isn’t learning how to play the sport. If you were learning how to play the sport then you would have a tennis ball in your hand along with a racket and you would be trying to serve the ball and trying to learn how to play not sitting at home on the internet just messing around not really learning how to play tennis.

The internet can however help you with other things that you may need help with in the sport of tennis. You may just need some guidance or a little help so all you do is go online and look up your problem that you may have. Say your problem you have is your swing and you cannot get the ball in the service box. You just go on Google and look at how to improve your swing. I am sure that they may have chat rooms for you to chat about tennis and how you play.

You will be able to learn just as much as from a trainer as from the internet if not more. I will agree that you can use the internet and learn more then you would from a real person that is charging you by the hour to teach you stuff that you probably already know. So in that case if they are trying to charge you money and trying to teach you the things that you know that you already got down with your skills then you just need to say hey man I already know all these things your showing me how about you show me some new stuff or I am going home and just going to learn this for free on the internet.

You will just want to be in good shape and be able to play the game before you start trying to play. You will need to be able to run across court for a ball that is far away sometimes. You are going to have to push it in tennis because it is a cardio sport and it will get your heart rate up so be careful and have fun with tennis.

Playing tennis on a regular basis may have an effect on the body. One of the depressing things in tennis is the tennis elbow. It can be really excruciating sometimes, if you are not regular in playing tennis or irregular in your recommended exercises. The pain can be really unbearable sometimes. So, play with caution. Firstly, consult some respected coach or a doctor whether you can play tennis. If you can play, be vigilant of the maximum force that you can put while playing the game, so that you may not get hurt.
