Things You Need To Consider When Getting A Tennis Bag

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

When you are playing tennis you are going to need to carry your equipment so that may mean that you need to get yourself a tennis bag. When you are getting a tennis bag all you need to get it for is to carry balls and your racket for playing the game of tennis. What else are you going to use a tennis bag for? Nothing, that is why you go buy yourself tennis bag so you can tote your balls and all the things that you could possibly need for playing tennis.

You will first need to check with yourself and ask yourself how much stuff I have and how much stuff do I need to bring with me when I go to play tennis. That is all up to you because only you knows what you will need to play the sport. You may just need a few balls and your racket or you may need a whole net spray paint and balls and a huge water jug. You will never know what you may need when you are playing tennis. You may need an extra set of clothes to change into after your game. When you are playing tennis you will need to buy what you need and what you are actually going to use.

If you are a serious tennis player then you may already have a bag to carry all your tennis gear in but if you don’t then you should go out to sports authority or something and look at golfing bags because they are of some use and will help you out a lot when you are playing the game of tennis. You won’t have to carry all your stuff to the court because some times the courts are a walk from the car. So if you have extra rackets and balls and extra clothes and towels then you are going to need a golf bag and you will want to use it quite a bit so you can get it broke in.

If you can fit everything that you bring with you in a smaller bag then that is good for you and you are not going to have to carry as much as everyone else. All you need if you have a small bag is probably water, tennis balls and your racket. That is all that you probably need if you are a person carrying a small bag for tennis.

The choice of color and size is all up to you. If you want a big bag and you have a lot of stuff then more power to you but if you don’t really have that much stuff and you do not plan on buying more tennis supplies then I would just get a small bag unless you do plan on getting into the sport and you want to buy a big bag so you will not have to buy one in the future then that is all you.

Celebrity Tattoos: Who’s Wearing What

The beautiful and famous women in Hollywood are hitting the Red Carpet not only decorated with flowing gowns, dazzling diamonds, and brilliant jewels many are also bejeweled with colorful tattoos designs.

With the word “Tattoos” one of the top keywords searched on the Internet today, and the basis of two popular TV reality shows, it’s no surprise America’s hottest fashion runway is on fire with female celebrity tattoo designs.

Tattoo popularity began to take off after debuting on the stages of musicians and rockers, then spilling over into pop culture celebrities.

Tattoos are seen on many beautiful celebrity stars such as Drew Barrymore, Britney Spears, Charlize Theron, Gillian Anderson, Pamela Anderson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Christina Ricci, and Janet Jackson.

Oscar winners such as Marisa Tomei, Melannie Griffith, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Julia Roberts are all intriguing, fascinating, and yes tattooed. And Actresses are not the only beauties baring ink. Supermodels Christy Turlington, Stephanie Seymour, Carrie Otis and Kate Moss are all members of the celebrity tattoo club.

Hollywood’s beautiful and glamorous female celebrity tattoos are found on many areas of the body, lower back, ankles, necks, arms wrist and all of which is in between.

Foot Tattoos or “Pedi-Souvenirs” are very popular among vacationers thus as permanent mementos of a great trip. Famous tattooed tootsies included Carrie Otis, Kate Hudson, Charlize Theron, and three musically talented ladies of the Dixie Chicks.

Ankle Tattoos are very popular among supermodels. Many women prefer ankle tattoos because they can easily be shown or covered with a wardrobe change. Christy Turlington, Rebecca Romijn, Denise Richards, Christina Applegate, and Penelope Cruz are just a few lovely ladies decorated with ankle art.

Hip Tattoos are considered to be the most attractive and sensual tattoos among women. Women often wear bikinis and low cut pants displaying their designs. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon, and Drew Barrymore are among the “hippest” tattoo designs.

Lower Back Tattoos are tall on the list as a favorite body area for celebrity leading ladies. Considered one of the sexiest, sensual, areas on a woman, the lower back is also one of the most versatile places to tattoo, exposed on the beach and covered in the office. Tattoos on the lower back can be private and secretly hidden from the rest of the world, or flaunted and displayed proudly. Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, Norah Jones and Lucy Liu are names of just a few of the fabulously famous with lower back tattoos.

Wrist Tattoos are another popular area chosen among the stars. A wrist tattoo can be easily hidden under a watch or decorative bracelet if need be. Lindsay Lohan, model Sara Spraker, Carmen Electra

Upper Arm Tattoos, specifically female armband tattoos have literally come around again in popularity. In particular, Tribal Band tattoos have been increasingly in demand and more than likely have paid for a large number of artists’ Harleys parked in front of tattoo shops. Pamela Anderson helped to trigger the “band wagon” with her sexy barbwire tat.

Breast Tattoos are popular and there is a difference between chest and breast tattoos. Examples of breast tattoos are widely searched on the Internet. But if you are looking for celebrity breast tattoos look to Teri Polo, Christina Ricci, and Rapper Eve.

Neck Tattoos, were once a body area considered taboo by the majority of tattoo artists, but more recently have been increasing in numbers and showing up pushing the boundaries of what society tolerates as acceptable. Today, beauties such as Alyssa Milano, Brittany Spears, supermodel James King, and musician Kelly Clarkson are putting their necks out on the line.

Full Body Suit, was a tattoo termin the past that excluded the neck, hands, and face so when attending social functions tattoos could be “cover-up with a dress “suit” or long dress. Today, a full body suit tattoo is just that - head to toe and all of that in between. Among those daring enough to sport the “suit” are tattoo fashion icons Kat Von D and Theo Kogan.

Beowulf - The Poem, the Movie, the Figures

Published by kitty under Uncategorized

The Origins

Beowulf is an old English epic poem thought to have been composed sometime in the middle ages.

The poem tells the story of Beowulf and his battles against three different adversaries. A truly epic poem Beowulf has survived through the centuries and is the only surviving example of Anglo Saxon heroic poetry.

Despite being a mainly Scandinavian story with most of the storyline taking part in Scandinavia rather than England it has risen to become anational English epic.

The only remaining manuscript is untitled but the story became known as Beowulf in the 19th Century.

The poem consists of no less than 3,183 lines and the events described in the poem take place during the 5th or 6th Century. This can be confirmed by some of the historical events that take place in the poem and can be dated back to this period. There are many scholars who have the manuscript agree that many of the events and personalities depicted in the poem are historically accurate and also appear in many Scandinavian sagas.

It is though to have been first composed in the 7th Century, probably in East Anglia and although it deals with mainly heroic matters there are a few Christian viewpoints expressed in the poem, but most scholars believe that these were probably inserted at a latter date.

The author remains unknown and it is thought the poem was originally formed through oral tradition and passed down by scops, or tale singers. The author is considered to have been very imaginative in the way that he combined both pagan elements with traditional accounts of heroic and historical events of the time with his own imagination.

The only surviving manuscript of Beowulf is the work of two, rather than one, scribes who transcribed the poem from another earlier manuscript and it now resides in the British Library.

Beowulf is a hero of the Geats and the poem he has to battle three antagonists:

The first of these is Grendel, who is attacking and destroying the inhabitants of Heorot in Denmark, then later Grendel’s mother and finally a dragon.

The first of these battles occurs when Beowulf and his men spend a night in Heorot.

After they have all fallen asleep Grendel enters the hall attacking and devouring one of Beowulf’s men. Beowulf feigns sleep as Grendel approaches and then he leaps up grabbing Grendel’s arm in a wrestling hold. In the ensuing battle Beowulf’s men draw their swords and rush to his aid but their swords shatter and break on Grendel’s thorny spikes and iron tough skin. With the throes of their battle threatening to bring the hall down on top of them Beowulf finally tears Grendel’s arm from its socket and he runs off into the marshes to die in his home.

After celebrating Grendel’s death, Hroogar and his men sleep in the great hall but all is not safe as Grendel’s mother attacks the party, seeking revenge for the death of her son and so she kills Hroogar’s trusted friend and warrior.

Determined to rid the town of both Grendel and his mother Beowulf, Hroogar and his men track her down to her lair under an eerie lake.

Unfero, a warrior, presents Beowulf with Hrunting, a sword, as he prepares for battle.

Prepared, and ready for battle Beowulf dives into the lake in search of Grendel’s mother.

Grendel’s mother quickly alerted to his presence, attacks him but unable to harm him through his armour she drags to the bottom of the lake. Surrounded by the remains of the many men they have killed the two engage in a fierce battle.

At first Grendel’s mother gains the upper hand as Beowulf’s sword Hrunting is unable to inflict any harm on her and so he throws it to one side protected only by his armour from her ferocious attack. Desperately Beowulf reaches out and grabs a sword from Grendel’s mother’s armoury and hefting it fiercely over his head he brings it down swiftly beheading her.

Venturing further into their lair he finds Grendel’s body which he also beheads and then returns to the surface where his men await him.

After his adventures Beowulf returns home to live peacefully. Many years pass and Beowulf has become the king of his people. Then one day a slave by the name of Earnaness steals a golden goblet from a dragon’s lair.

On awakening and finding the golden goblet missing the dragon leaves it’s cave bellowing in rage and anger at its theft. So he wanders the land hunting for the thief and his goblet burning everything in its path.

Beowulf hears of the plight and he and his warriors approach to fight the dragon. But all of Beowulfs men, except for a young man named Wiglaf, are too afraid and run. So Wiglaf and Beowulf fight the dragon alone eventually killing it, but Beowulf is mortally wounded and soon dies from his injuries.

Beowulf is cremated and his ashes are buried high on a cliff overlooking the sea where his barrow, burial mound, can be seen by sailors.

Beowulf’s people also decide to bury the dragon’s treasure along with him instead of sharing it afraid that it is cursed.

There are many been different adaptions of Beowulf including books, plays and films. The latest is a new film due to be released November 2007 which although remains partly faithful to the original poem most of the plot elements are not.

Beowulf the Movie

The latest movie adaption of this old English heroic poem is said to be a cheerfully violent and strange take on the original Beowulf saga.

Although some parts of the movie remain faithful to the origins of the poem the majority of the plot are original and explore the relationship between Grendel and his mother and their motivation in more detail as well as what happens in Grendel’s cave between his mother and Beowulf.

The film has been made using a special technique of digitally enhanced live action and will be released on November 16, 2007.

Two versions of the movie have been filmed and will be released simutaneously, a 3-D version and a standard 35 mm version. The 3-D version is to be screened in over a thousand using the same 3-D technology as used for Monster House, Chicken Little, and the 3-D release of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The film will star Ray Winstone as Beowulf, Anthony Hopkins as King Hrothgar, Angelina Jolie as Grendel’s mother, and Crispen Glover as Grendel.

Paramount pictures also recently agreed on a licensing agreement with McFarlane’s Toys who will develope and produce action figures based on the upcoming motion picture.

The initial four figures that have been announced are:

  • Young Beowulf
  • Grendel
  • Grendel’s Mother
  • Dragon

Due Nov, 2007.
